Medirest is part of the Compass Group and is one of the UK’s leading firms in the provision of non-clinical services into the NHS market.

This definition covers everything from catering to cleaning, security to switchboard. It employs some 70,000 people nationally and keeping track on their time and attendance is a huge task.


The Requirement
Medirest approached Blick Time Systems for help with installing a standardized T&A system across initially six large hospital sites. In addition to recording hours worked, the company was looking for help in organising shift patterns as efficiently as possible to provide optimum service with minimum waste.

The Solution
Blick Time Systems’ prescription was its ProSoft package, initially at six hospitals. ProSoft provides a complete, fully integrated management tool for all sizes and types of business. It easily accommodates flexible working arrangements, flexitime, mixed shift patterns, remote (home) working via the Internet, multi-sites and multinational organisations.

Medirest quickly made much better use of resources, adding efficiency to the operations and cutting costs considerably. Following this successful trial Medirest then ordered ProSoft for seven more hospitals - Hammersmith, Charing Cross, Nottingham, St Albans, Hemel Hempstead, Watford and Basildon. Labour scheduling is also underway.
